Inaugural Post

Posted by newscoma | Posted in Groovy and Sexy | Posted on 29-12-2005

I work at a small newspaper.
Sometimes its the most monotonous job on the planet. Many times I wish I worked here.
Or here.
The bottom line is, many things that happen nationally are completely and totally ignored by much of the community I live in because so many people sitting at the “round” table at the local restaurant do not want to think that national issues and scandals will impact them directly.
I love living in a small town, but sometimes I want to say, “It’s the politics, people.” Things are happening.
Doesn’t matter if you’re a republican or a democrat, people just keep drinking the Kool-Aid but around here it’s Drink-Aide and tastes a whole lot worse going down.
I like my life. Being that this is my attempt to join blogtopia, you will hear about me. Other times, I will write about local news, you will see my views on local government.
Just because I’m a small fish in the big scheme of things doesn’t mean I don’t have an opinion or two myself.

Blog worthy of checking out : TinyCatPants out of Nashville. Awesome read.

  1. A lot of small town bible belt people look to church leaders for information on national and worldwide news. Seriously. When a person believes that things out there are happening because of bible prophecy (more of that going around than you know) they make political decisions accordingly. I wish more people would watch something besides Fox News and the 700 Club. There are people out there who limit what they read or watch on t.v. because they think that it is evil, like Science for instance. A lot of people think evolution is an evil word when they don’t even understand the process. We need to make this earth a better place to live and being narrow minded is a lot of the problem.

  2. [...] I think the government should give me a bunch of money to build a time machine. Yeah, that would be cool and it would have a keg and David Tennant on board, who would entertain me by pointing out all the cool things in history that I probably have forgotten. Here’s my first post. [...]
