Slartibartfast On His Wishes for 2007
I like Shoot the Moose. I really really do. When I read stuff like this, it just makes me feel darned skippy.
In the coming year, I have but one wish for you, dear reader. I wish for 2007 to be a year without fear.
But then ST Bart goes on to say this:
When a door opens for you, I hope you do not agonize over the consequences. Just do it. Or don’t. And don’t look back.
When you look at your loved ones, I hope you enjoy the wonder of their company instead of fretting over what might happen to them. I pray you receive the kind of peace that allows you to create a safe environment for them to grow, without stifling that growth.
Try not to worry about your job (this is a big one for me). Be prepared just in case you DO suddenly find yourself unemployed, then forget about it and just do your job. There’s nothing you can do about it anyway, besides keeping your resume up to date.
I just pulled a couple of things, but his post made me pause for a moment. It was a thoughtful kind post and in starting out my day, I was glad I read this. It was nice.
And there isn’t a darn thing wrong with nice.

This reminds me of the new Martina McBride song, “Anyway”…it is based on a poem that Mother Teresa wrote. The first verse says,
“You can spend your whole life building
Something from nothin’
One storm can come and blow it all away
Build it anyway”
It’s an amazing song…
Here’s hoping that 2007 is everybody’s best year yet.
I’m so glad you liked it. And I’m glad you stood up and spoke your mind recently. That’s something I do VERY rarely. It’s always liberating, though!
Now, you know I’m going to be bugging you for weight loss tips this year, right?
I have a feeling I’m going to be going back and re-reading his post many times over the year. It’s a great one.
PS Squirrelly’s comments are all whacked out again – this PKBlogs thing or whatever she is using? I get an error.
