War Protest

Posted by newscoma | Posted in Groovy and Sexy | Posted on 13-01-2007

Last night outside the hotel we are staying at, veterans and Memphis citizens protested the “surge” announced by president Bush. There were roughly 35 protesters when I was there. One one car that drove by was negative. Many cars beeped their horns in support.war-protest-union-and-mclean.jpg

Scenes From Media Reform

Posted by newscoma | Posted in Groovy and Sexy | Posted on 13-01-2007

Here are a couple of highlights from the Conference of Media Reform in Memphis. As I’m sitting at the P& H Cafe, I haven’t had time to reduce them.

There has been a lot of talk about corporate media and it’s influence on the mindest of America.

Beautiful.

Surprisingly, or maybe not,, mainstream media outlets didn’t show, but so far, Squirrelly and I have seen Danny Glover, Jesse Jackson, Mayor Willie Herenton, John Nichols, Amy Goodman and the awesome Bill Moyers.

Squirrel took a ton of shots, and we will get them up here as we can.

Here is a another taste. I put them up bigger later, but am having some tech difficulties.

Man, this conference is amazing.

Awe-inspiring

This conference is life-changing. I cannot even breathe right now.

Life-changing.

I’ll  have a series of pictures from Memphis in just a few minutes. What I’ve seen so far has been awe-inspiring.

I really feel validated for the feelings I’ve had for the last few years.

As I said, pics by Squirrelly are coming.

We are sitting at the P and H Cafe because the wifi at the hotel is the suck. They are coming.
