The Pile of Goo Which is ‘comaTuesday, January 16th, 2007Last night, I came home from work and literally dissolved into a pile of goo into the chair. I’m pretty tired, I admit that. And then I woke up this morning and I was still tired. I need about a day without distraction to just stare at the wall. But it’s paneling and that could potentially create additional problems, because as you know, paneling isn’t that pretty or that interesting. Today, we are going to be looking at a redesign of the paper. We are switching to InDesign next month and we want to see the best way to optimize our pages (and bring them up to date.) I’m actually excited by the enthusiasm of the staff about this. I like it when everyone comes together for a common cause. I just need everyone to stay on the same page. But I think I’m going to need a great deal of coffee for this endeavor. And, as usual, I remain tongue-tied by the tall Power that Obama To Run?Tuesday, January 16th, 2007
I’ll be honest, I don’t know if its coincidence or not, but it’s ridiculous. The MSM has put Osama up on the screen when Obama’s been on television, Fox made it part of their lead news recently that he is a smoker, gone to town on that his middle name is Hussien and now in Minneapolis, MN., the Fox Affiliate showed footage of Obama supporters while reporting on a sex offender story. I’m not trying to be shrill here, but WTF? And yeah, he’s throwing his hat in the ring. Yeah, I AgreeTuesday, January 16th, 2007While I was at the conference this weekend, I saw a T-shirt that said “God loves everyone, No exceptions.” I liked that T-shirt. It was hopeful and although it was just ink on cotton, I thought it was relevant. So, I get what you were saying in this post, Slartibartfast. I really do. Jonestown RevistedTuesday, January 16th, 2007I’m sitting here watching the documentary “Jonestown: Paradise Lost” on the History Channel. I was a kid when the mass murder/suicide happened in Guyana and it frightened me for reasons that I could never really understand. I think now, I was most likely frightened that one man could create an environment like this where he had so much control, but it still amazes me to this day that out of roughly 1000 people, only fifteen decided to leave that day with Rep. Leo Ryan. And look at the price. Most heartbreaking thus far has been the commentary from Jones’ own son, Stephen. This photo was the one that appeared on the cover of Time magazine. I remember we had a subscription to it. I just couldn’t understand. It totally freaked me out when I was 12 years old. I don’t think I will ever use the term “drinking the kool-aid” again. My Fine Is …Tuesday, January 16th, 2007580.10 Sista, I really am glad I’m older now. Yikes. I mean that. And I’m glad I’m much more content. I also mean that. Only Two People Will Get ThisTuesday, January 16th, 2007Quick Shots Of The WeekendTuesday, January 16th, 2007Here are some more candid scenes of our weekend in Memphis. We met Lynnster who went to the Save The Internet bash with us and we had a few moments (man, it was a busy weekend) where we just messed around. Here you go. Squirrelly and Lynnster Lynnster the paparazzi. Derek the waiter at Cafe Ole Squirrelly is very tired. ‘Coma is very happy with her Bass at P & H Cafe Very disturbing sentiment in the bathroom of P & H Cafe that gave me the willies. And we laughed and had a good time. |
