The Fire Loves Us and Refuses To Leave

Homer just came to see me.

The fire isn’t apparently out and the fire department has just come back out to the business. She looks tired and I know I’m darned tired and we have a house full of kids who were scheduled a month ago to come out to the commune.

The cool thing is one of the boys that came over just played ColdPlay and “I’m turning Japanese.” He’s 13. Well, darned Skippy. I dig this kid.

Highlight of a rather dismal day with the music. As for the ever present fire, bleh.

And yeah, sort of a crapolistic.

  1. Our fire flared up 4 times (the last well into the 2nd day).

I hate fire; Did I mention that?

Turning Japanese was one of my favorites as a teen / young person in the 80’s. It wasn’t till I was almost 40 that I learned what the song meant. Yeah, I’m Mr. Innocent.

Hope today goes better for you.

Oh, everything is fine and it’s not really bad as it seems other than all of us being really tired.
Thanks for the kind thoughts. (Incidentally, I didn’t know what Turning Japanese meant either until much later but I still think it’s a great song.)

Nothing scares me more than a bldg fire. If we live multiple lives, I think something must have happened to me w/ fire previously b/c I truly am so frightened of fire – it is so scary and destructive. I am so STRICT on fire codes when I inspect places. I am so sorry to hear about this – it must be so devasting to them. I will be thinking about your family in my thoughts and prayers and hoping the process of rebuilding through this will be as painless as possible. Bless your alls hearts. Love love to you all.
