Super Bowl Random Thoughs

I have learned not to root for any team because if I’m for your, then you will most decidely lose. Being a long-term Cardinals fan, we made it to the dance for many years and then came home with nothing.

As a Vols fan, my allegiences lie with Peyton Manning. Several years ago, the year he was a junior at UT, I had a chance to interview him for a couple of minutes. He was kind, congenial and self-deprecating. He was a good interview. And being that my grandfather taught me from a very young age that blood does run orange in our family, I’ve followed his career. Love him or hate him, he’s a great quarterback.

I really thought that Chicago’s Defense would annihilate old Peyton and the boys, and out of the gate, it appeared like that might happen in last night’s Super Bowl.

It didn’t happen. The Dan Marino curse/connection was broken.

So, amazingly enough, twice in one cycle of championship games, my teams have won.

Is there something amiss in the air?

Yikes.
