I Remember
Okay, I have to just throw this in here. Back in the days of dinosaurs and vinyl, my mother had an album by James Taylor called “Sweet Baby James”.
Yeah, he was hot.
It’s weird getting older. Taylor is on the Oscars now and all I can remember is how seventies sexy he was on that album cover. She would play that album for hours and it resonated with me at a very young age.
And yeah, he was cute on the album.
Not only is he getting older, but so am I because this is what I remember.

Oh my god I LOVE James Taylor!! He isn’t too bad looking now, I don’t think. I grew up listening to him (though I was only alive for 7 months of the 70s, hehe), and I actually prefer listening to him (and others) on vinyl.
I think he’s still got a lot of “IT” but boy was he cute on that album cover.
I’m still digging vinyl too.
Ohh, the days.
He’s still totally hot, but it’s mostly his voice that makes me all swoony.
And unto us a son is given, who looks just like his dang daddy:
The ole man’s still pretty hawt, though. It’s always been those eyes. And the voice. The voice. Don’t play the live version of “Steamroller Blues” around me, in other words, unless you’re intending for me to crawl all over you. Hee.
By the way, is there anybody else who could sing with him like Arnold McCuller? It’s like Jackson Browne and Rosemary Butler — there is no better accompaniment.
I’ll hush now. And fire up JT on the iT.
Grr. The first link messed up. Here it is —
God bless it. I’m going back to bed. But first, finally — Young Ben Taylor.
They generally make you turn in your ‘man’ card if you admit it, but I LOVE James Taylor.
Makes me think about women and glasses of beer…
If anybody’s fool enough to say that to you, slarti, just say one thing: “He co-wrote with Reynolds Price.”
So THERE!
I made the comment last night when JT and Randy Newman were on how old everybody’s getting and how depressing it is. Heh.
I downloaded Carly and the two Taylor kids singing “You Can Close Your Eyes” the other day. Absolutely gorgeous.
In college, one of my groups of friends used to throw a James Taylor Festival party every year. One year, since it was being held at someone’s house that was a big Parrothead, it was the James Taylor/Jimmy Buffett Festival. But that was always the biggest party of the year among that group in any case.
And yep, he’s still good lookin’ for a man his age.
