Now that it’s been revealed that Joe Hill is Stephen King’s son, I want you to look at the photo and I ask you, honestly, are you even surprised. Here’s his website.
And no one even asked him or said “Hey you look like Stephen King.”
But I get that he wanted people to just read him and not make the comparisons, but still …
Photo and story from here.
Homer likes these. This one is for her. And there is nothing about cabbage and corn beef in this post but Happy St. Patrick’s Day anyway.
Today has been a slow day, other than me reading Tech websites on how to do … ummm …. websites. And of course watching Ninja Warrior.
So in light of a quiet Saturday night and in honor of St. Patrick’s Day (I did my celebrating yesterday) Here is my favorite psychobilly band from Memphis, called The Dempseys. It’s not a great video, but man, they are fun live.

I read this a little while ago over at Slashdot:
“In the simplest terms: too many IT workplaces have become Dilbertized — micromanaged, bureaucratic and stifled creatively. It’s become an environment where busy work is praised and morale is low. How is it possible to bring IT’s appeal back? ‘IT professionals that have worked in the field for a long time often speak about a shift in their work where they have gone from tossing ideas back and forth to make for better technology solutions to fighting fires all day.
I’ve been reading a ton of IT stuff in hoping to redo our website at the paper, which unfortunately is not very good. I get the complaints (a lot of them) but I have no access to our website whatsoever. So I’ve been trying to learn things that are so foreign to me, like HTML coding and other stuff that is just like learning a new language.
I’m slow on the uptake, but I’m trying.
This was a reminder, which I needed. It was well said and it gave me a little insight. We have two IT guys working for us and the daily that owns us and they talk about this in small meaningful ways all the time. They do put out the fires and they do have a lot going on. Sometimes, because where I work we sometimes feel like the red-headed stepchild, I have to keep in mind that they are sometimes just as stifled as we feel. They are saying this without saying it. I should be listening a bit better.
I will also say that I hope that I can remember to try on other people’s shoes. I forget that and this reminded me I need to do that and mean it.
Wearing another person’s shoes can give you insight, and in the long run can only make us get better.

I’m messing around with my template.
Just saying.

I was having trouble seeing my blog due to the stink eye and the new glasses aren’t in yet.

Squeegee Monkey and Squirrel Queen are making me watch Ninja Warrior on G4.
My brain is currently exploding.
