Thoughts on Elizabeth Edwards

Having just seen Elizabeth Edwards on the telly, I must tell you, I don’t think she looks too good but she does sound optimistic.

And that is really a great thing. When my mother had a recurrence, she tried to keep a cheery demeanor, but it was hard for her.

Why. Because she was in a lot of pain. And I also believe there was a great deal of fear, although I only saw snippets of that in very low moments.

Today, I think that Ms. Edwards was really quite inspirational, because life, does indeed, go on.

Even in the face of the horrifying reality of cancer. Cancer that has metasticized is a really frightening thing, not only for Elizabeth Edwards but for the people in her life, regardless of the fact that her husband is running for president.

I’m glad he didn’t quit.
