Newscoma Gets Lost

Yesterday I had to drive to Paducah, Ky to pick up an E-Mac for my office.

Let’s just say I got undeniably, terribly lost. Mapquest was not of the helpful. I should have known better, when folks have come to Hooterville from Nashville, the mapping program ended up sending most of them about 40 miles out of the way. Paducah is about an hour north from where I live. Mapquest to the location had the drive at 80. I should have known better, so I went the way I knew and got caught in the backroads of one of the parts of town that I have never, never seen before.

Anyway, a torrential rainstorm started and I was lost in a part of Paducah I knew nothing about. So, being the everwise Newscoma, I stopped at Four Rivers Harley Davidson. If there is one thing I’ve learned in my life, if you are lost in a weird part of town, head to the Harley dealership. Yeah, I’m giving them a plug. They were the port in the storm.

They were great. I found where I was going within two minutes, the manager had two saleswoman working on finding the place I needed to go and let me wait out the storm, because I was dripping wet from the storm even asking if I wanted a cup of coffee.

There are good Samaritans out there. So the lesson might be, ever get lost and wet in a city you don’t particularly know, go to the local Harley place.

Of the good.
