Bruce Campbell, The King
As I am a huge fan of Bruce Campbell, for a variety of reasons but mainly because he’s just fun, I am watching a Bruce Campbell double shot on SciFi.
And, as I’m currently reading “Make Love The Bruce Campbell Way”, I have declared it Bruce Campbell day in the newscoma universe.
The Man With The Screaming Brain really sucked but it was Bruce so I’m staring at the television screen like a dog waiting for a Begging Strip and Alien Invasion isn’t much better. With this said, Alien Invasion is known as the highest rated film on the SciFi channel ever.
For some reasons that makes me chortle. And yes, that is Gabriella from Xena. Good B-movie fun.
And if you haven’t see Bubba Ho-tep, shame on you. Ozzie Davis as John F. Kennedy! Bruce Campbell as Elvis. What’s not to love about this? I saw it again for like the third time a couple of weeks ago and just swooned and you should see it. Why, you say. Because it was based on one of the greatest novellas ever written by the wonderful Joe Landsdale.
But this makes me happier than anything: BRUCE HAS A NEW TELEVISION SHOW!!!!!
Oh, I’m winded.
Now, it’s called Burn Notice. Oh, I so hope this doesn’t suck. It could, you know. And he’s not the star but I don’t care.
Dear Sam Raimi,
Put this man back to work. We need more Evil Dead kind of movies and less Spiderman. I realize this isn’t a good financial move but my pleasure is more important than, you know, anything else.
Your friend,
newscoma
And, yet again, more Bruce:

A lounge version of Hungry Like The Wolf.
What’s not to love.
This whole Old Spice series with him is amusing.
Squirrel Queen
I LOVE BRUCE CAMPBELL.
Thank you. I am fans of no other.
But you knew this,
your girl pal,
‘coma
fan, I should say.
Damn LSD I keep taking has rendered me stupid.
of course he does get some fine onscreen moments in ALL Raimi movies and in many Coen brothers movies too.
plus much fun can be had playing the two Evil Dead video games with Campbell cracking constant jokes as he does the voice of Ash.
can the small TV screen contain the greatness of Campbell???
No, but it’s all I got.
Thanks for letting me play critic.
Damn, I was long-winded.
How about who folks think are the the most corrupt politicians in the last 40 years?
I know who’s number one and he just might shoot me in the face. He who will not be named.
I’m scairt.
A friend of mine has an entire script idea called “…and Starring Bruce Campbell as God.” He also went to the premier of “The Man with the Screaming Brain” and got his picture taken with BC. A few years ago, Campbell actually emailed him to praise him for one of the reviews he did of some BC movie or another.
As for me, I get emails from soft-core porn chicks telling me about their new boobs. I think I win, regardless.
Well, I think that goes without saying, Hollywood, that you are the victorious one. Although I would love to meet Bruce Cambell.
The next dog I have will be named Bruce
Or Gulager, who directed Feast. I love the name Gulager.
[...] on World’s Ugliest Dogblindersoff on World’s Ugliest Dognewscoma on A Little Rain Pleasenewscoma on Bruce Campbell, The KingRon on Bruce Campbell, The KingRon on Attack of the Killer Tomato (Wine)captainkona on A Little Rain [...]
Clu Gulager, father of John Gulager, was in “Return of the Living Dead.”
I do win, only because I got a picture of said new breasts in the email.
I know.
Clu was in Feast as well as the bartender. I just love the way Gulager flows off the tongue.
And enjoy your cyber breasts.
Well, this was actually years ago, but the new breasts were much nicer than her old fake breasts.
Bruce also has a new movie coming out called My Name Is Bruce.
Think Galaxy Quest for Evil Dead fans.
There are limits to my fandom.
Most of his movies blow, there is no doubt.
And then you get Bubba Ho-tep or Evil Deads and it’s like stealing candy from rich kids.
Great!
Alien Apocalypse had the look of “Contractual Obligation” all over it.
Screaming Brain was better, but not by much.
Ted Raimi with an accent that was so bad that I wasn’t sure what country he was from made me laugh.
I love me some Ted Raimi too.
The Bug/Villans in Alien Apocalypse made me howl. And Campbell playing it straight.
Heh.
Count Me In, I can move this one forward.

This is what Bruce Campbell said about The Evil Dead 2008:
“We don’t really talk about [another] sequel too much ’cause Sam is too busy right now. It would all be kinda moot. But I think we’re gonna do a remake. It’ll be a whole new story, though. It won’t be with Ash. It’ll be the evil book, and it’ll affect a whole new group of people in a different situation. More like a reinvention. A lot of people, they got really crabby on the Internet when they first heard that type of stuff. But, we would never do anything to insult them. The trick is to take that premise – and we think it’s a scary premise – and use some cool modern day FX… so we won’t have green garden hoses in the shots. We wanna make a flat out, scary-ass, un-rated horror film.”
Somebody please make them put Bruce as Ash in that movie, please!
It’s like, they’re throwing away the last and perfect oportunity to bring THE KING to the big screen as Ash and for showing the young generations from these days who is Bruce Campbell and why he is, well, THE KING of B-MOVIES and etc…
Agreed, sweetie.
Bruce is the king.
