Breaking on Trent Lott
MSNBC is reporting that Trent Lott will be resigning from his Senate Seat.
NBC News has learned that Trent Lott’s in the midst of informing close allies that he plans to resign his senate seat before the end of the year. It’s possible a formal announcement of his plans could take place as early as today.
Anyone know why?
I’m sure he’ll go on BET to let us all know why.
hahahha on Sarcastro. I know the woman who was his scheduling secretary, but have heard nothing from her. If he’s leaving office early, my guess is one of two things: 1.) Scandal, or 2.) Health.

Inter-resting.
If you wait until the end of your term to resign or get voted out, you have to wait two years before registering as a lobbyist. If you quit in the middle of the term, you can be sucking at the teat of special interests after just a year.
That’s a million dollar reason.

No reason for Lott’s resignation was given, but according to a congressional official, there is nothing amiss with Lott’s health. The senator has “other opportunities” he plans to pursue, the official said, without elaborating.
