Dear AMC,
Bullitt is a classic. The French Connection is a classic.
A Steven Seagal double-feature scheduled for primetime?
Am I missing something here?
Is it just me?
If you are hiring, call me. I think I can help you out with your scheduling issues.
Love,
Newscoma

Well, which two Seagal movies are they showing? If one of them is Above the Law, and the other movie is made before 1994, they might have a convincing argument.
You know, there is some country, some place, some when, that those movies ARE classics.
I don’t ever want to visit any of those places.
Dear Ron,
Umm, no. I can’t go there.
Dear Tommy,
Yes!
Respectfully,
Me
Above the Law is pretty damn good for a face-breaking action movie. I’d put it alongside any Chuck Norris movie.
Ron, I give you this. Not for any other reason than I think it would make you happy,

What makes you think the name of channel actually has anything to do with what they show? Take a look at MTV (no explanation there), The History Channel (should be called the “UFO channel”) or the Sci-Fi channel (I feel like I see more horror there than Sci-Fi). But the ultimate has to be the E! channel….How dare they? “Entertainment”…..pshaw…
Ohhh my god, I have a friend who SWEARS he’s a great musician. I will admit his back-up band is pretty damn good, but… uh, I dunno about his guitar skillz. He should stick to sloppy akido and being the victim of mafia extortion.
AMC lost me when they started having commercials. They used to show really good stuff. Then, they stopped.
You’re just noticing that AMC’s definition of “classic” has changed?!? LOL
It’s been this way for years….
Used to be, you could tune in and see some older movies that were a bit more obscure but still enjoyable. As an old time radio fan, I loved when they’d show old Jack Benny movies or some of the Great Gildersleeve movies. Shooit, showing lots of stuff made before 1950 that was referred to on the shows was a treat for me.
And now, they show stuff like “Catwoman” And they have commercials. And they lost the guy who used to host the movies and give you trivia on them before and after the film.
If you want older movies, you gotta go to Turner Classic Movies.
Well, I’ve been so busy watching DVD’s and playing with my TIVO that I honestly forgot that AMC was sucking.
Actually, they did use to be of the good. I just can’t, even in their changes, see where ole Steve Seagal comes into all of this. I could see it as a SPIKE classic, but not anywhere else.
Sorry Ron.
Seriously. And, I understand the commercials, but dangit, I don’t like it.
I am an IFC girl.
