Calling BS

Posted by newscoma | Posted in Tennessee | Posted on 08-01-2008

I have a question?

Why does Hillary Clinton showing emotion over her role in the current political landscape have anything to with anything?  So this makes her weak?

I’m not even for Hillary but this is the dumbest story I’ve seen in a long time.

I thought she sounded like a real person and what she said was powerful.

And I’m calling BS on this being a big deal.

She can’t win either way. She shows emotion, she’s a hysterical woman. She acts tough and she’s a ballbreaker.

Amazing. I thought we lived in 2008. Oh, wait …

  1. I miss you tremendously!

I think we still have so far to go, but at least there is some diversity in our politics at the top.

You are right (as usual!) about Hillary, she can’t be a woman or a man, so what does that make her?

  2. [...] Newscoma is not at all pleased with the media firestorm that has cropped up around a rare show of emotion by Hillary Clinton: She can’t win either way. She shows emotion, she’s a hysterical woman. She acts tough and she’s a ballbreaker. [...]

  4. Other than the fact that it is being made into such a huge deal, my biggest problem with it is that it seems so contrived. I think it started as something genuine, but when she got the small round of applause she realized she’d hit on something and tried to milk it.

I don’t think getting emotional is any big deal, I just don’t buy it in this case.

  5. Nothing wrong with emotion (or good acting either one), but Hillary cannot win in November anyway so an early exit is probably her best route. Hopefully the Democratic voters are wising up and realizing that John Edwards is the only electable candidate we have.

  7. Hillary, or any woman who runs for a traditionally “man’s job” is damned if she does/damned if she doesn’t…on anything.

Many events of the past week, including this one and the reaction she’s gotten, has turned my feministat up a couple hundred degrees.

  9. What Ginger said. I guess I’d gotten complacent, I don’t know. I do know this. I’m not as competent or talented or driven as Hillary Clinton, but I do have some ambition. And if this is what they say about her….what are they thinking about me?

  10. I can speak only for myself, but I don’t think it’s women that people dislike so much.

    It’s Hillary.

  11. I’m not really a fan of Hillary, but I watched the tape twice and it just seems like such a non-story to me and it didn’t necessaril.

It really, for me, was no different than the 24/7 of Britney, Anna Nicole’s death etc.

It’s non-news and it was made into major news. Garg.

Thanks to all of you for weighing in on this.

  12. “She shows emotion, she’s a hysterical woman. She acts tough and she’s a ballbreaker.”

Word. I’m so sick of this and KNEW it would become a major news story even though there’s really nothing to talk about.

  13. I knew it would to, Jane, and that’s what’s bugging me the most.

  14. oh my, is that a sleazestack for your icon newscoma? God I miss the good ole shows like that and sigmund and the seamonsters…..
