Focusing on the Unfocused Which Would Be Me
It’s been a bit of whirlwind week. I’ve rather enjoyed it, actually, as I took a couple of days off from work (vacation days) and have been working on some stuff that’s important to me.
With that said, I’ve been thinking a lot about life, taxes, 401K plans and monsters as I’m still on my Cloverfield high. (I liked it, dammit.)
I have spent a portion of my morning working on the the new blogging gigs I have (send me some love over at Popular Fidelity and Teevieo if you are so inclined. I’m having fun with them.)
The political season is intriguing to me right now. I just read an article over at CNN about possible new frontrunners in the presidential race, but I’m not banking on anything. I like two candidates but I’m still torn on who to vote for. Yes, it will be a democrat. I’ve even thought about asking Dennis Kucinich over for dinner as he doesn’t seem to be invited anywhere else right now and I want to make him feel all welcome. You gotta give Chris Dodd and Kucinich credit. At least they are submitting things to the Senate to get done that I like. Maybe I’ll ask Dodd over too. As I am a terrible hostess, I might have to ask the groovy chicks at Home Ec 101 to come over and help me out. And maybe Claudia and Laura, because they seem to understand the concept of cooking edible food. Alas, if you have read this blog over time, you know what I’m talking about as we have dealt with exploding toilets, terrible food and my inclination for beer which doesn’t always work out unless you are the host at a jail riot. I also don’t know how to do other things I admit but I do like having a saucy conversation over politics and Bigfoot, so I have that going for me. And, no, those aren’t the folks I’m considering voting for. I’m mulling it all over. Yeah, I’m a muller. I only have one vote, want to make sure I’m casting it for whom I want. I don’t have the option that other folks have, like a thousand votes. (Ha, ha, … umm … that’s not funny.)
The FotS also has a couple of things that we are going to auction off. Melissa Kent from WSIX/The River in Nashville delivered me a signed acrylic hockey stick last night. It’s huge. If any of the Predators fans out there have any suggestions on how we should put this up for auction, let me know. It’s really cool. I’d kind of like to keep it as I think it would make a fine whacking stick like Opus had on Bloom County, but alas, the money goes to Stewman, and I can’t afford it so let me know. We also have an autographed Hinder electric guitar face. It’s pretty nifty, if you are interested. I will be hand delivering some of the T-shirts but for the couple of you who I have to mail it to, I’m going to send them out next week. Thanks for bearing with me on this.
