Obama And McCain Win The Nickelodeon Vote

January 19, 2008 - Author: newscoma - Comments are closed

When it comes to the 2008 Presidential race, who would America’s children vote for, if they could? According to Nick News, the Linda Ellerbee-hosted Nickelodeon program, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama would be the winners.

Kids nationwide voted online as part of the network’s Kids Pick the President initiative. Results were announced last night, with Sen. McCain getting 24% of the GOP vote, and Sen. Obama receiving 46% of the Democratic ballots. Nickelodeon says almost 80,000 votes were cast.

Very interesting on how the kids voted. The press release is here.

Oh, how I used to love Linda Ellerbee.

  2. What was that really cool newsmagazine show she was on in the 80′s before there even was such a thing as newsmagazine shows?

Also, I wish Disney Channel did the same thing. I can’t quantify it, but I’d swear that kids who watch Disney would “vote” more conservatively than kids who watch Nick.

Why was the voting limited between Obama and McCain? What happen to Ralph Nader/Matt Gonzalez, Gloria LaRiva/Eugune Puryear, James E. Harris/Alyson Kennedy, Bob Barr/Wayne A. Root, Chuck Balwin/Darrell L. Castle, and Cynthia McKinney/ Rosa Clemente? If we are a country supporting equality and democracy, isn’t it important to allow the other presidential candidates the same consideration and publicity – media converage? I’m disappointed about the message that is being sent. Supporting popularity voting for major political parties breeds ignorance if you do not have all the facts. When will the media take the high road and provide equal media coverage regardless of those who support your financially support and benefit from your business – namely your ratings? Entertainment does not trump ethics. The positive aspect is you are encouraging minors to think about politics and who should represent this country. Please consider including all presidential candidates and bios of each when providing this opportunity in the future. THAT’s how you will be sure future voters make good choices.

    Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. puddles says she is not watching nick after that. hasn’t all week. this was her decision, not mine. she doesn’t like obama’s eyes, she says.

even though her boycott will probably only last a few more days due to the attention span of an 8 year old, she still remains, in my non-biased (ha) opinion, a very bright child who makes a choice and sticks to it.

Great idea-let Joe the plummer run!!! Then Americans could have a real American represent them and not someone trying to suppress and hide voter fraud, illegal contributions and who knows what additional illegal activities this questionable american (Barak) is active in. What this means as a kid, my parents will have a lot less money to buy ice cream and cool i-tunes for me, not to mention, what about freedom of speech? Barak O Vomit!

So, you only publish the comments that make your inferior candidate look good. It looks like my parents and other conservative “normal” people need to block Nickelodeon and other liberal biased nonsense organizations. I bet you see nothing wrong with murdering innocent un-born babies.
