She’s a woman having a baby. She is not a man. Not even a little bit. All of this media reaction is irresponsible journalism at the least. I don’t understand how anyone can find this so awesome or different in any way from the several ladies I know that just had children. Again, Tommi is a female, has always been a female, and the surgery/testosterone/etc adds up to nothing more than the equivalent of an elaborate Halloween costume.
(s)he is a woman, physically, so i don’t see what the big deal is.
I admire the couple for their courage and I hope they can be a happier family with a baby born this way. Though I am worried about their safety…
This is WRONG! Thing about the children that are already in this world that are faced with challenging situation every day because of the actions of their parents.
Thomas and Nancy were only thinking about what people where going to say and how much publicity they were going to get compared to how their child is going to feel.
Yeah… I would want a parent who was born a female, didn’t like that, so decided to have surgery to look like a man, changed his/her mind again and decided to be like a woman and have a child for their wife. Think about it! This is someone who is not happy with anything.
If you like women and you are a women, go be a lesbian! Leave the children out your decision that you choose to make in your life.
This is amazing. However there really are pregnant men currently living. There is a transgender man-named Thomas Beatie, and a REAL pregnant man that was artificially inseminated by an experiment procedure named Lee Mingwei. Lee Mingwei was born a man, and was impregnanted through a controversial procedure…

well there marriage is legal..its in the article that he got his transgender surgery so that he and his wife could marry!
he or she looks terrible. such a stupid person. how is his or her child want to live after this? what is the child s goin to tell her friends about her parents? she has a mother who is a guy!
It seems in my mind our society is becoming sick and sicker. Why not live our lives as we are born? How disgusting to think the guys in the stained white lab jackets continue to find ways and means to change what God created. This guy Beatie is looking for nothing other than publicity …. a real sicko in my estimation. For those who state how terrific this situation is…. you too are sick. Hail to the group of activits who stand for the rights of family…… true born gender female an male to unite in marriage, bring children into the world where they will grow up as normal human beings, a worthy attirbute to society with not adjustments to sexual organs minds. This guy in my book has a real mental problem.
All of you who think that Beatie is gross or stupid need to Fu** off. Im sorry but really, I agree that it is strange that “he” went public with this story but it isn’t ANYONES buisness what people do with their lives sexually. How would you like it if this was you and people were calling you stupid and gay and disgusting? It is kind of strange that they told the media but it is because this has never happened before. Thomas wants to be a lesbian and be able to be married. It is not legal for two lesbians to get married, so Thomas changed his LIFE just to be with his true love. I think that is so sweet. Even though they weren’t exactly thinking of the child’s future at the time, anyone who makes fun of the child needs to grow up. I think it is interesting that a woman changed to a man is having a baby even though sometimes I think people can go overboard with publicity.
