Thomas Beatie Story A Hoax?

Is the Thomas Beatie story a hoax?
Reports are coming in that a press conference has been called for tomorrow which is incidentally April Fools Day regarding the “pregnant man.”
News outlets are deeming it a possible hoax. I guess we will have to wait until tomorrow.

I never bought it. It was too pretty of a Demi Moore pose and he just looked like a dude pooching out his beer belly.
I wasn’t sure. I figured if Bush could get elected twice, anything was possible.

This is becoming a very difficult story to determine the truth here,for very simple reasons,there seems so many variations on this,on a sexual definition of thomas,where the pregnancy is developing,and pictures found on the net.
What we will prob see as “possible truth” is what we read,and this is dependable on what links were actually clicking on.
From what i have personally viewed myself on the “male pregnancy” as a whole,is 3 different pictures of men,claiming to be either “thomas beatie” or another named male “lee mingwei”.
Another aspect of this,is one..the pregnancy is in utero,as thomas has internal and external femal genitalia,allthough one link stated self insemination…
And the second issue of the pregnancy being implanted by specialist docs,into the abdominal cavity (which can occur naturally) but rare…
I DONT THINK SO !!
One other aspect im confused about is what defines “thomas” as being male,taking into account all hes “apparantly” had is removal of the breats and male hormones..DOES THIS LEGALLY CLASS YOU AS MALE ?
If so,again a thought came to mind,if theres truth that thomas has had to stop taking this hormone prior to conception,but will return to it some time after the birth….Is he then not considered to be TAKING AWAY one aspect of whats defining his sex as male…and therefor classed as FEMALE WHILST PREGNANT !!
Because in reality,with the male hormone not being administered now…hes simply a woman who has had a masectomy..and nothing else..
This i find quite upsetting,especially for those woman who have had masectomies due to cancer….i dont see much difference here,barr thomas opted for such surgery due to sexual prefrence (which i do also understand,and not apposed to in any way)..but surely this makes a statement and wrong one at that…that some ppl may view a woman whom has had a masectomy,as having some form of male status…THERES A FINE LINE BEING PERCEIVED BY THIS NOW…and its looking pretty ugly to even contemplate this as a possibility to some.
As i have stated,im not normally opinionated on transgendered individuals,but i find it hard to understand…
why a woman,who wants/needs/feels to be a male,legal or not..would ever consider a pregnancy
Maybe my views are wrong,but i still have the right to give my two penneth worth.
If this Mr. Beatie has not has her female organs removed then she is not a man. It Is very wrong to do things as changing your gender. God created a man and a woman. and did not give the right to people to have their genders chenged or to be gay or lesbian.

Luttie56 is right! I can’t understand people who are so rigid. I’m bisexual,, my parents don’t know and i’m not sure I’ll ever tell them,, mainly because they’ve always been judgemental of anything i’ve done that’s ‘different’. I know that Stacie didn’t say anything about bisexuals but i personally believe that all sexuality should be celebrated. Stacie I’d like to know when you start to live in the 21st century.

As for the gender thing… I think that people should judge people by their gender. It isn’t what defines them. From looking at me i’m quite obviously female – i’ve got big boobs, my waist curves in and i’ve got wide hips (all things seen to be feminine,, or so i’ve been told). But i’m no less male than my male friends or my boyfriend. What i’m saying is people shouldn’t judge Thomas Beatie. He has given his wife something she wouldn’t have been able to have again, a baby, because she can’t have any more children. He has carried on even though doctors and his own family rejected him. I say well done to him.
I believe that we should be able to accept new things. I object to all forms of judement whether it be against gender, race, weight, even hair colour. I just hope that for Thomas, Nancy and the baby’s sake that his family realise how up-tight they are being not accepting it.

If thomas was “legally” a female,nobody would bat an eyelid…but…
thomas being legally a male (and pregnant),is a different story..
Its not the fact (in my case anyhow) that thoms has undegone any sexual identity changes,or indeed married to a woman…Its the whole mystery of thomas’s legal status as male or female..that is making this so interesting.
What im trying to determine is..how can someone be legally a man if all they have endured is a masectomy,and hormone treatment…..of which has now stopped….

OK…So I am a femal and have had breast cancer and had to get a full masectomy…From what I’ve read I could ask for my sex to change to male???Where would I make the request…I could probably get a better job/pay…If I were considered a man for getting a masectomy…Can someone tell me where I can have my sex status chaged?
well it turns out “mr beatie” is legally a WOMAN living life as a man !!
Hmmm… this is a non-story. Another woman is having a baby.
No amount of paperwork will ever change a person’s gender.
