Harvey Korman, Damn, I Adored You
No. No. No. No.
I loved Harvey Korman. And he passed today.

Actor and comedian Harvey Korman, who was a regular on “The Carol Burnett Show” and appeared in a string of Mel Brooks films such as “Blazing Saddles” and “High Anxiety,” died Thursday at age 81 at UCLA Medical Center, according to the hospital. Korman suffered a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm four months ago, according to hospital officials.
Crap. I love “The Carol Burnett Show” better than anything. I love it when he cracked up live when Tim Conway, pre-Dorf, was doing his stuff.
Godspeed Harvey. You were a huge part of my childhood.
And thanks.
I lift my glass.

I grew up on a steady diet of Harvey Korman- as a kid enjoying his voice-over work on Saturday morning cartoons, the priceless characters from innumerable sketches on one of the last great variety programs, THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW, and of course his unforgettable turns in such movies as BLAZING SADDLES and HIGH ANXIETY.
If Carol Burnett and Mel Brooks hadn’t had someone like Harvey Korman around when they were first getting started, it would have been necessary to invent him.
Thanks for a lifetime of laughs, Mr. Korman. Rest well. You’ve earned it.
What could make you laugh harder then when Tim Conway forced Harvey Korman to laugh? Such love came through the TV screen. Was Korman a great actor? Who is to say… He did what he did in a way that you had to admire…may we all be able to say that about ourselves… Godspeed Harvey, know that you will still make many a smile for a long time to come…
I’m sooo sad.
I loved the way Korman always cracked up in mid scene on the Carol Burnett Show. Whenever he made an appearance or guest spot, it was always worth tuning in for any show. He elevated those surrounding him. Brilliant I tell you.

That’s right, Mark.
Tim Conway fucked Korman up.
And just watching Harvey Korman try to keep a straight face did the same thing to me.
The role in Blazing Saddles lives forever.
Thanx, Harvey. You are missed.
You brought so much laughter with your comedy. You surely will be missed!!
