It’s good to see that some people not only have senses of humor about themselves, but are able to put their self interests ahead of the prejudices of many in their communities.

Any person who works hard to collect a paycheck and loves the USA can be a redneck. Gentleman Viessman proudly served his country and state for over 30 years and as the youngest in a family of 13 children speaks from experience when he tells you he knows struggle. Gotta love their passion. And thank you for your service to our country. While you all were making sacrifices…while you were protecting Obama’s family, they were protesting you. Hard to believe that you can support this guy. Obviously, these rednecks have not looked at Barack Hussein Obama’s work that he has done as a Community (antagonizer) Organizer (hello ACORN and the voter fraud). He’s not for the hard working beer drinker. He has done everything that he can do for those that want to sit on their lazy behinds and expect the government (tax-paying hard worker) to take care of their every need and turn this country into a socialist regime. Would these veterans serve on a board with a terrorist? Would they go to a church for 20 years and listen to Rev. Wright? Why don’t you rednecks look at the entire picture? Look at where he stands on abortion…on immigration…on entitlement programs. Face it, Obama hates this country and doesn’t deserve to lead this nation and sadly these retired men have nothing better to do. This country is not a perfect place but it sure would be worse with Obama in the White House. We need change but not this kind of change!! You are giving us real Rednecks out here a bad name!! Well, redneckmom4Sarah, your reasoning is seriously flawed. During the last 8 years the size and cost of the U.S. Government have grown more than in the previous 250+ years – all under George Bush and the Republican Congress. The record is clear that the cause of all the problems in this country are due to: 1)de-regulation of banking, finance & energy industries 2) tax-breaks for large (often multi-national) corporations & their lobbying efforts. Both of these issues have become problems because of the giveaways by Bush and his “friends”.
I have done a LOT of research and you should be aware that Barack Obama’s proposed policies as analyzed by the Conservative Brookings Institute state that they are much more friendly the middle class than John McCain’s.
McCain is NOT a friend of the middle class. Do some research – you’ll be glad you did.
Boy do I agree with RedneckMom…she has hit these guys right square between the eyes. As long as the democrats and these so called Rednecks (yeah, right) believe that the middle classes who struggle to just keep afloat should support illegals and those who do not wish to work, they will not have my vote. I have worked for over 50 years as a secretary and having the Speaker of the House say that any meager increase in my small 401k should be taxed to support illegals who are not interested in becoming Americans makes me very hurt, concerned and scared. I don’t want someone who won’t support our troops, who thinks that illegals and non-working minorities should be supported by those who work hard is beyond my comprehension. Obama is never in Washington, has been radical in his outspoken condemnation of this country and now wants us to believe that he has changed 20 years of thinking. Oh, give me a break.
It is possible that Sadcox and others on this site don’t actually know the definition of ‘redneck’. My large extended family and that of my husband are nearly all are hardworking lower to middle class, who sometimes enjoy a beer and a barbecue with friends and also speak in complete, literate sentences. That is one version of a redneck, but there are others, equally valid.
Why can’t someone be a redneck and want to vote for Obama. I don’t know why in the United States its so black and white when it comes to politics.(ex if your a redneck you have to vote republican). I live in Canada and have many friends who I would consider really big rednecks who vote for the right and left wing parties.
