Sen. Paul Stanley, Not The One From KISS
By a vote of 18-13, the Senate decided to take away the power of city and county governments to require contractors to pay a living wage to their workers. This bill is brought to us by one of Pith’s favorite senators–the Republican homophobe Paul Stanley of ritzy Germantown. It mainly would apply to Memphis, where the city forces its contractors to pay the princely sum of $10 an hour.
If it’s not a culture war, the Senate is one dog and pony show where the dog is on three legs and blind in one eye and the pony is suffering a heart attack.
Amazing.
Can Stanley live on $10 bucks an hour in Germantown. We have some foreclosed houses here in Hoots that he could buy, I guess. Maybe not on $10 bucks an hour but it’s worth a shot. It’s the same shot he’s giving others so maybe he should try it himself. I’d even throw in a free puppy, but I’m afraid he wouldn’t feed it.
He may have to live on the cheap; he just lost his day job. Why, you ask? He worked as a “wealth manager” for Stanford Financial.
