  1. Their idea came from: http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2009/mar/31/german-family-seeks-us-asylum-homeschool-kids/ . Maybe newspapers and blogs should put disclaimers on everything for our slow legislators. “Do not pass a pointless measure of support for this issue.”

    Wow. That’s amazing.

I find it even more interesting that a legislator from Memphis is working to pass legislation supporting a German family living in East Tennessee. Way to represent your constituency.

  4. newscoma says:

    My thoughts as well, saraclark.

No, no, it’s a brilliant ploy to revive the American auto industry — undermine the German education system, so they produce fewer of those acclaimed German Engineers, leading to a decline in demand for VW, BMW, and Mercedes products.

OMG. People in this state have been losing jobs left and right for a year and half (you, me, Ginger, Sharon whoever all else we know & several thousand other folks), trying to find ways to live for two weeks on five bucks (that would be me), and they’re worried about home schooling in GERMANY?

And Bredeson’s got nothing better to worry about than making state employees who not only didn’t get raises this year but have barely gotten any in the last decade… oh, don’t even get me started about Phil and the state employee smoking charge that got pushed back to next year.

If these people have nothing better to worry about when more and more people in this state are jobless, and starving and homeless or are about to be – every one of them just needs to be sent home and we should be having a special election. All this pointless legislation in a time that is pretty much a crisis is just insane.

Grrr, now I remember why I try to avoid much political stuff.
