The main problem in the last mayoral election was the split votes between Chumney and Morris. I predict all of those votes will go to Cohen. Expect to see a lot of really ugly racial overtones a la Nikki Tinker. Memphis does not need to be dragged through that again. And the worst thing is, no matter what crazy thing Herenton says or does, he will probably win. Even though Cohen is smart, has a good record, and has represented all Memphians well in Washington, he can't get over the fact that he's white and Herenton is black. That's why Herenton will win.
