Where I Answer Some Questions

Posted by newscoma | Posted in Politics, Tennessee | Posted on 22-08-2009

This is going to be the only post I write about the governor’s race because, yes, I took a job with a candidate. Yesterday, I received hundreds of emails and DMs so I’m going to lay this out. If you aren’t interested, here is a picture of Mabel.

Let’s get some housekeeping done.

  1. Are you still going to blog? Yes, but I’m not going to talk about the governor’s race. I will continue to write here but I won’t be doing that. I might tell you when I see puppies or interesting people, but that’s it. And that’s the right thing to do.
  2. Why did you choose Mike McWherter to work for? I love the dedication to new media, the bloggers and the online community but it’s more than that too. I made a decision after a lot of thought and consideration and those of you who read this blog regularly know I don’t make impulsive decisions. I’ve met some really groovy people that are like-minded and that was a plus and they are teaching me new things.  This is a wonderful opportunity not only for myself, but for voices in the blogosphere in Tennessee. It’s an honor to be able to be a part of this.As an evangelist regarding social and new  media, I am very excited about this. And I’ve written countless times about the political process embracing new media tools.
  3. What are you going to be doing? Social and new media.
  4. Will you still write about Hoots and Bigfoot? Umm … yeah with a bit of zombie talk thrown in for good measure. I do love Hoots and the people here so I like writing about this community and what goes on.
  5. Are you nervous? Sure I am, this is all new and it’s change. Change is always exciting and mysterious and you get on a path you’ve never been before, so yes, I’m nervous but ready to get out of the gate.
  6. Will you still blog about politics? Yes, but not the governor’s race.
  7. How does Mabel feel about this chain of events? She is currently asleep next to me and seems quite comfortable with this chain of events.
  8. What are you going to be doing, you haven’t answered that? Be patient. You will see.
  9. Are you moving from Hoots? No, that’s not in the plan.
  10. What’s the hardest part of all of this for you personally? It’s not hard at all other than I guess I can’t wear my sci-fi Converse tennis shoes to events. I sort of like them.

All-righty. There you go, As for my buddies in Hoots, they have been great. They just want to know if I’m coming to the Soybean festival to eat grilled meats. We are a fan of grilled meat here.

Sharing Is Caring (8)

  1. I think you can wear the cool shoes to all new media events. New media approves of non-traditional footwear.

  3. So it’s fair to ask Mike his position on prevention of zombie attacks now? (ducks)

  4. When I’ve worked on campaigns in the past, I just quit writing altogether. For me, that was the easiest decision, but that may not be the case for you. Remember, you can always pick it back up. You can’t go back and change the outcome of an election.

Regardless, I think you’ll do just fine.

  5. Thanks Auto. I’ll be in Memphis soon. Can we beer each other? :) Lots to learn.

  6. Congrats, Coma! I look forward to your new endeavor! Maybe see you in Memphis sometime.

  7. So, are you now endorsing Mike Mc Wherter for Governor ? I cannot find where you have said you endorse him, just that you`re going to work for him. Would you like to get a job at Goodyear Union City ? I really do not reccommmend that.
    Your Friend = Underdog

  8. Cool news. Glad you found a job, Coma.
