Oh my god. I am so sorry – caught up in what I thought was a whirlwind at work, and I didn’t even hear a peep about this in Nashville! I was wondering where you were…
It is all the more disgusting and awful that he volunteered with law enforcement. Not to mention:
(via The Pacer) In recent years Tuck launched a campaign out of Atoka, Tenn. for Tipton County, District 4 Constable. A statement from his campaign site reads:
“I have seen first hand what crime can do to a great community if it is not effectively prevented and suppressed and how corrupt law enforcement officials violate the trust of the citizens of a community. Using my experience, I will work hard to safeguard against that happening here and help keep this a great place to live for its citizens as this community grows more populated every day.”
WTF????
And then I read a comment here from a (not related to this case) brave woman who was kidnapped while she was trying to use Mace on her attackers.
This is just insane. Like one of your neighbors, I like to think I could take any guy who dares to look at me the wrong way, deep down inside I know that I probably wouldn’t be able to when it came down to it. Yeah, I am not your first pick for an easy target, but upper-body strength + surprise + fear would likely do me in, too.
Christ. I am so glad this guy has been caught.
But what about the rapists? Women are going to continue to be assaulted by strangers, family, and “friends.” What do we do?
Nothing has even happened to me, yet, behind my false bravado, I am scared shitless. I hate to admit it. But it is true.
Just watched this clip this AM; it was troubling to watch. My thoughts, if you are “just a person of interest” should your whole life be known to everyone? I feel awful for his parents!
