Halloween, Love Letters and One Very Large Beer

I’ve been a traveling girl this week and headed back to Hoots after a pretty groovy time of work in Nashville. This is going to sound odd, but I do dig the “going to the office” sort of thing. I’m too social of a person to be in my mumu doing work from Chez Coma so I have to say, I enjoyed it.

I stayed out at the bachelor pad that sits outside of Aunt B.’s house as she enjoyed her hermit vacation. I even had dinner with The Butcher, who I have decided is a guru of sorts. I fought the urge a few times to walk in the back door and announce “Luuucccy, I’m hoooome” but I didn’t as that is A.) annoying and B.) stereotype deadwood. You know what I mean. I appreciate her kindness and hospitality. I also got to see some blogger buddies who unexpectedly showed up for lunch which was of the good. That was nice. We caught up on things and it was groovy. I must tell you that it was a nice break and Kathy T. even came to check out the work place.

As I think I’m going to be up a bit more often, I’m hoping to hang with more of my Nashville buddies when I’m not at the workplace. This is good all around.

And, you see, that’s what it was all about. Commuting is new to me and I’m learning a few things.

  1. Make sure car is operational because the brake pads on Henry the PT Cruiser need to be replaced. Must do that stat.
  2. It’s fun to eat at El Rey Azteca. You may remember why it’s infamous. Dang good food and a beer so big I could not finish it which may be a first. The visit charged up my political geek batteries. If I can’t finish a beer, it’s a monster. Pictures to follow, I swear.
  3. I looked at the Nashville skyline every day as I headed into the office. I lived in Nashville back in the day and I was reminded that it’s a luscious city in the early morning hours.
  4. I must have more cell phone minutes which means I will be weeping on Monday because I have to deal with Verizon, who periodically pisses me off just because they make things so difficult. They do it with a smile, but it’s difficult nonetheless.
  5. Coming home and seeing part of the crew was very enjoyable. I have really neat acquaintances and friends here in Hoots.

This will be my last weekend home for the next few weeks. I think Squirrelly and I are going to see Paranormal Activity tomorrow.

My hope for this afternoon is to go and take pictures of adults in Halloween costumes. I have no idea why I love doing this, but I do.

So, today, I’m thinking of love letters. Those to Nashville and those here in Hoots because love ain’t a bad thing, campers. Not in the least.

Azteca is the shit. You also need to try Jerusalem across from the HQ. It’s a Mediterranean lunch buffet. Really, really good.

That’s my next destination when I come up in two weeks. (Went to Sitar which was awesome sauce.)
