On Blogging, Celery Hands And Sundry Things

My hands smell like celery, which is not unpleasant in the least. I like the smell of celery. It doesn’t really remind me of Christmas that much but it isn’t a bad thing at all.

Hey, do you remember when we used to blog about silly crap like that? Now we take our musings to Twitter or Facebook, but dang it all, that used to amuse the ever-loving crap out of me. Still does.

Newscoma has a birthday later this month.  There have been a lot of changes in blogging in these four years. Thought about shutting the lights off a few times but then I’d see an anteater in chaps or something easily as asinine and I would be smitten with it all over again. Bloggers got more agenda-driven in these four years in some cases with the onset of MSM going, “HEY, YOU BLOGGERS. HEY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!” and then figuring out that these folks have the pulse of what’s going on in a community which should be revered. Oh,  you know the drill here, I don’t have to explain it to you.

Changed things a bit.

Niches changed things. For folks like me who write about everything, I’m constantly having to find a flashlight for the path I end up following because it’s always poorly lit. So I write about:

  1. Bigfoot, Shark Week, Lost, etc.
  2. Politics when it suits me
  3. Annoying Autobiographical Pauses
  4. Mabel, a half-breed Corgi
  5. Hoots/Beer/People in Hoots
  6. Losing my job earlier this year/ANNND puppies
  7. Mullets
  8. My irrational fear of catfish
  9. Zombies
  10. Being a big softie/sentimental/nostalgic middle aged woman who occasionally gets stabby.

Well, there is no niche for me, campers. So what the hell, I’ll tell you that my hands smell pleasantly of celery and how it is clean and delicious, and that I like it very much. That sometimes my journey is covered in a badly lit path where I fear spiders lurk in the woods so you never know what you are going to get.

So, take my advice. Do what you want to do on your blog.

I am.

I like you just the way you are. And of course, I think Mabel is the bee’s knees.

Blogging about whatever I felt like’s always suited me. If I wrote about anything anyone but me really and truly cared about, my almost 13 years of blogging would be about two pages long, probably, I figure.

Strangely enough I am sort of blogging all over the place nowadays (even tho the poor Zone’s been a big neglected again) and finding it may ultimately wind up being responsible for my living – which is weird since I always pish-poshed that idea about my personal blogging – but yeah. More on that another time, but blogging’s certainly not as dead as I’ve sometimes wondered in the past year or so if it was.

I hope you’ll be blogging about varmints and Mabel and all that other stuff for a long time to come. And celery, even tho I’m not a fan of celery, that’s OK with me too since they’re your hands.
