Out Of Memphis

Saturday morning, our friend Lauren had a heart attack. She and Steve Steffens have been together for 20 years. It was bad, my friends. Very bad.

She is currently in ICU at St. Francis in Memphis.

There really are no words when you see people you love and care about go through a medical emergency.  Steve and Lauren have a wealth of friends and family. The waiting room has been filled with well-wishers and the shock hangs in the air. We are reminded that this is a marathon and not a sprint.

The world changed for them both on January 2.  And it changed for all of us that love and care about them.

Tom Petty got it right, the waiting is indeed the hardest part.

Hope your friend will be well. My mom recently had surgery at St. Francis, and my grandfather was hospitalized there more than once. It is an excellent facility, and she will be in good hands.

There are few friends I’ve met online that I respect as much as I do Steve Steffens. Any love of his is a friend of mine.

Trace, I’m really glad you, Maynard and others are there with them.
All I can do is pray and pray I will.

“Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do … ” John 14:13

My prayer is that Steve will turn to the Great Physician for healing and sanctification, so they he, and his wife through him, can know eternal peace and salvation, through the Grace of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

I am just devastated to hear this. Please pass on my well wishes & let Steve know they’ll be in my thoughts and prayers. And you hang in there too.

I got with several in the Buddhist community and we chanted all night for her. I couldn’t write a thing for my site–just focusing on sending her positive energy. and have a bag packed and ready to head to Memphis at a moment’s notice.
I’m really glad you went down there, but I’m thinking since I can go during the week, I’m ready if needed.
Steve is lucky to have so many friends and so much love, and I’ve never seen anything heal better than love.
I just wish we’d get the e.e.g. results. He has tons of people right there and doesn’t have to count on us getting there immediately, so that’s good.
If I get a call to go, let me know if you want me to pick you up on the way.
I don’t know what is going to happen–none of us do. But if love were money, Steve and Lauren would be millionaires.
