Stewart makes a good point about blogs. I’m a blogger and I see the same thing happen a lot.

Thanks for this. I missed Jon Stewart all week and was sad. But now I am happy!

Huffington and Kos are the worst at these types of headlines but all they need to do is get those clicks to make all the hyperbole worth it, right?

    Actually, Mary, wrong.

I tend to see this more as Jon Stewart trying to score points with Centrists and finally realizing he blew it.

I agree with Jon that some headlines overstate his impact. I find him very entertaining, but trying to act like he’s the Jewish Harold Ford Jr. makes me wonder about his dedication to progressive issues.
Seems like he’s functioning under orders from some producer instead of being Jon Stewart (whoever that is).
He never spent any time bashing progressive journalism or blogs while Bush was in office. In fact, John Stewart was no different than any other progressive talking head. He saw the problem and did what he had to do to draw attention to it.
Now he’s a shill for the center all of a sudden?

Anybody remember the “your Dick is out” Daily Show about Cheney? How is that different from Huffington Post saying he “destroyed” O’Riley?

Has the progressive agenda always been a laughing matter to Stewart or just recently?

    Jon was either:
    a) Looking to attract more Right leaning people for bigger ratings….

    b) Bowing to pressure from the payday godz upstairs…

    c) Or never really was as Liberal as he makes out to be.

If anyone else has any idea as to why he suddenly attacks progressives, right after Scott Brown won the Mass Senate seat btw, having never done it before please feel free to explain it.

But… had you watched the vid all the way through, you would have noticed that Jon realizes he made a mistake by attacking the blogs, especially those that support him regularly, and played it off like it was all a big joke.

Maybe it’s all just been one big joke to Mr. Stewart after all.

Stewart’s been going after everyone these days. I remember reading years ago in George magazine a hysterical piece he wrote about playing poker with Strom Thurmond. I laughed until I cried.
He’s a comedian first, so I give him a pass for much of what he does. I see him as a contrarian. :)
