May The Wine Be With You

It really doesn’t make any sense to me why the state of Tennessee doesn’t sell wine in grocery stores.

Today, Red White and Food wants folks to get the message out about putting wine in retail food stores.

I honestly don’t know why the selling of wine is a big deal in the first place. It’s not like winos are going to bring in axes and start trashing the joint. Most people are responsible. I’m not but there are some out there that are.

The epic fail for where I am is that the grocery store in the town I live in doesn’t even carry beer. Amazing.

I like what GoldnI wrote today:

But please don’t confuse the issue with teen drinking. That’s just a way to deflect the true intent of those who oppose wine in grocery stores, which is to keep Tennessee stuck with an antiquated system that inconveniences consumers for the benefit of a few wholesalers.

Yeppers. It’s usually about the money.

So, put wine in grocery stores because it’s the smart thing to do. And, it would make my dad happy.
